New Aircraft Maintenance Facility |
| |
A new aircraft maintenance facility at the Queen Alia International Airport will be built on a 70,000 m2 land located adjacent to and complementing their existing maintenance facilities at the said Airport. This facility will be dedicated to providing aircraft light and heavy maintenance (A through D checks) for Airbus A320, A330, A340, and Boeing B737 models.
The Project’s initial phasing requires the preparation of a Master Plan for the entire Land Plot of some 70,000 sqm. to include a two Span Portal Frame (85 m span per portal) Hangar to be used for the A340 models, in addition to another two span portal frame hangers of the same span but with lower eve height for the maintenance of other models, mainly the 737 models and the like.
The Hanger design should also allow for the possibility for an additional span extension in the future, and around 50,000 sq. metre of aircraft parking area, to be constructed over one or two phases.
The Hangar should fully enclose a minimum of two, A 340 / A-330 aircrafts or a multiple of A-320 / B737 aircraft or other fleet aircraft that can be accommodated without A-340's being present. The Hangars structure will be fully enclosed and include hangar doors along the airside portion of the Hangar. The A-340 Hangars will have sufficient interior vertical clearance to permit jacking of the A-340 for wheel removal and/or swinging of the gear with at least a 2 m clearance to structure.
